This quote is much more applicable for us – fans and sports handicappers. My friends and I have been losing money left and right, no matter what picks we have been choosing, no matter what books we have been reading about NFL handicapping.

Contrary, almost all of the gambling gurus and statisticians are in agreement that football is the most predictable game of all. Thanks to its rules and wide range of statistics.

We started in 1995 and the results were promising, but not quite satisfactory. It took us 18 years in total to develop, test, and perfect our method. As of now, it is only for NFL and only against the spread.

Predicting outcome of the football game has been a challenge since the game of football began. Current solutions are:

1. providing probabilities as a percentage of one team winning the game over the other or,

2. providing probabilities as a percentage of one team covering the spread or,

3. an “expert opinion” that one team may cover the spread.

Are you happy with them? Let’s see what all those have in common:

4. First and foremost they are probabilities,

5. Second, their outcome probabilities are entirely or predominately based on a human opinion.

6. Third, they do not provide any record of accomplishment of their outcome probabilities in previous seasons. Not even for the previous game.

7. And last , it is mostly “HIGHLY ACCLAIMED EXPERTS” based opinion rather than prediction.

That doesn’t help much, does it!
